Do you Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory?

Do you rise and shine and give God the Glory? Who’s a morning person? Not me, that’s for sure! I am always up late because, well, it’s my quiet time. I feel peaceful and refreshed if I have some time without the chaos of the day. Honestly, I think it’s when my brain works the best too. In the morning, that’s another story. Let’s just say..I don’t Rise and Shine. I need an adjustment period (also known as a cup of coffee) before the “nice” side of me is fully functioning. My hubby on the other hand is awake and loud and cheery in the morning. It’s annoying!

On The Struggle Bus

I was struggling, I couldn’t be the only person who just needed a minute! Just a minute for a cup of coffee in peace. Right? Can you relate to this? I woke up one day to this cute little upbeat song stuck in my head. You may know it, Rise and Shine and Give God The Glory, Glory. I’m not sure why it was there, I mean it’s a children’s Sunday School Song. I think my granddaughter had listened to it on my phone the day before and subconsciously it was just there! Stuck there with the cheery little tune! It made me giggle a bit because when God gives you something to think about, it doesn’t always make sense at first. That day I focused on Rising and Shining instead of glaring and snapping at my loving cheerful husband, who is a real morning person.

And so the inspiration was born and I designed this adorable Christian Farmhouse Sign with the phrase Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory, Glory. It was obvious to me that it’s not just for Sunday School! Getting up first thing in the morning and giving Glory to God is part of my coffee and mental adjustment. It helps me to be nice, notice I didn’t say cheerful,

Usually I only need a few minutes of self control, focusing on my blessings and putting a forced smile on my face while my morning loving husband has a few “cheery” moments. And usually he remembers I’m a grump, and is quiet…for like a millisecond!

Gotta love mornings,

“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you ~ Isaiah 60:1
