How Did I Ever Do All That?

Sometimes I wonder how in the world I ever successfully ran a business and household as well as I did when the economy was at a high.  Between the kids, the phones, the employees, and the dispatch radio, there was NEVER a peaceful moment, life was a constant interuption.  It was go, go, go, and believe it or not, even with all the chaos, I seriously think my house was cleaner then than it is now! Currently, there are no constant phones or interuptions but my days, always feel full, and I always feel as if I do not have enough time to get everything accomplished.

I was worried about my schedule this last week.  I knew I had way too much going on, and I also had the regular daily activities that I needed to continue.  Much to my surprise….all went well and I was extremely motivated.  I had one of those “ah ha” moments!   I figured out that when I am stressed, I function better….not because I’m stressed, but because it forces me to be organized!  I decided to be calm about the week, and I had the mindset, that whatever happened, I was doing the best I could.  It worked!  I did my best to not waste any time, so of course I wasn’t playing on the computer, or doing any other unnecessary tasks and I was going to bed early, getting enough sleep, asking for help and spending time in prayer!   In order for me to be organized my family also had to be organized, what  a concept!

This week was long and tiring, and insightful at the same time.  I was inspired by my feelings of accomplishment and that led to me feeling good.  I’ll be setting a goal to be productive this week also.  I believe the key is setting the goal, being good to yourself, and asking God for help.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

For those of you who have inquired about how the teenager fared on her trip to the beach, I’m happy to report that I still have hair and she handled things wonderfully…Thank goodness!

Roman’s 12:12 – Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
