Just A Call Away

Today I had the best phone call with my daughter.  It was one of those moments that makes you smile. When your child realizes that Jesus loves them, it’s a good day!  Oh, I know, I know, she should already know that, and she does, logically, but when the evidence is answered prayer, well that brings it all home! It’s the best feeling when the solution is so out of the blue, that you just know, that you know, it was your prayer.  There’s no better feeling on earth!

I need to remind myself every day, how much, depends on me being aware of God’s influence on our life. He’s available when ever we choose.  Prayer works and without this daily surrender I would be a little crazy trying to solve all my problems.  Spending time in God’s word always brings me closer to God. Prayer turns my thoughts away from my problems and as I spend time in His word, I am learning to trust Him, to let go of my problems, both the little ones and the big. The solutions to do not depend on me alone.  Thank goodness because I have a tendency to want to control the uncontrollable and I’m sure that I’ve passed that character defect along to my girls….

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
